1. what we collect.

Account data. If you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) handles your email address and login credentials. We keep a profile — display name, avatar — in our content system so your comments and likes have a name attached.

Newsletter. Your email address, stored with our email provider (Resend), used exclusively to send you chip alerts. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that actually works.

Analytics. Google Analytics tells us which reviews get read and which get ignored. It sets cookies. We look at aggregates, not individuals. We have never once looked up what you, personally, read at 2am.

Submissions. If you submit a chip for review, we keep what you send us — the chip's name, where you found it, your reasoning — so we can evaluate the chip.

2. what we don't do.

We don't sell your data. We don't buy data about you. We don't run third-party advertising trackers. We don't email you unless you asked for it. We don't share your information with chip manufacturers, no matter how nicely they ask.

Our opinions are funded by nobody, and so is our data policy.

3. your options.

Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. Delete your account and we remove your profile from our systems. For anything else — removal, correction, a copy of what we hold about you — email complaints@chipter.io and a human will handle it.

4. services we rely on.

Clerk handles authentication. Sanity stores content and user profiles. Resend delivers email. Cloudinary serves media. Google Analytics counts visits. Vercel hosts the site. Each processes only what it needs to do its job, under its own privacy terms.
